What if you want to join Puppets Elora?

Let us know your interests, both experience and zest to learn and chances are we can expand our scope to fit you in.
We operate project based, doing what we have the interest and skills for. Right now we don’t have enough volunteers to deliver our sock making workshop or operate our parade puppets.
The know- how exists, and we can train you. We could also accept more show bookings if we had more performers. Evenings, Sundays and summer time are tricky for our current cast. Sadly, we turn down booking offers for many of those.
We currently have plenty of puppets and popular shows waiting to meet an audience.

Troupe members participate in some or all of the following activities:

Puppeteering, making puppets, operating sound and/or lights, helping develop a new show (See: Creating New Shows), organizing bookings and publicity, book keeping (very little), picture taking, preparing exhibits, teaching workshops (See: Workshops), taking part in the parades, attending skill-upgrading workshops, visiting shows performed by other groups….

Time commitment: Wednesday afternoon rehearsal 1:30 -3:30 at the Elora Centre for the Arts.

You will need time to learn the skills. We will give you lots of time. We have some line learning, and definitely learning the plot and learning to get into a fun alternative personality.
Puppet shows are definitely performed during March break, on some PD days and at the July 1st parade.
We typically take the summer off. We created the new shows to need fewer actors so we can cover for people traveling.

Please note: You will need to pass a police check

What does it cost to join Puppets Elora?
